The internet acts carrier for
several different services, each with its own disinters features (see Figure
8A.5). The most commonly used internet service is given below:

Chat.

Instant
messaging.

Online service.

Peer-to-per
service.
To
use any of this service, you need a computer that is connected to the internet
in some way. Most individual users connected their computers modem to a
telephone line (or use a high-speed connection such as DSL or a cable modem)
and set up an account with an internet service provider (ISP), a company that
provides internet through access school to the internet backbone. Many other
users connect to the internet through a school or business network.
